June 16 GLO highlights: Six GLO players scored in double figures, including Mehryn Kraker with a game-high 22 points, as Wisconsin routed Chicago behind a dominant second half in which the GLO outscored the Breeze, 64-16. Wisconsin held the Breeze, who did not make a field goal over the last 11 minutes of the game, to just three points during the final period.

Kraker went 9-for-9 from the floor and drained three 3-pointers while Jolene Anderson had 15 points. Rounding out the GLO’s six double-digit scorers were Taylor Wurtz with 13 points, Allie LeClaire with 11, and Alex Cohen and Sam Logic with 10 apiece.

Domination on both ends: Wisconsin has won its last three games by an average of 57 points, shooting 54.7 percent from the floor and scoring more 103 points per game during that span while holding opponents to a .254 field goal percentage and registering 56 steals. The GLO have not allowed an opponent to shoot better than 37 percent from the field in any of the franchise’s first seven games.

The GLO have continued to share the offensive spotlight throughout the season. No Wisconsin player has scored more than 25 points in a game this season despite the team averaging 94 points per contest on the year. Fourteen different members of the rotating all-star GLO roster have scored at least nine points in a game this season and six are averaging 10 points or more per contest.

Scouting the Icons: Music City remained winless on the year following a 94-61 setback at the three-time defending GWBA champion Flint Monarchs on June 15. Calisha Clark led the Icons with 25 points.

Clark, who was held to one point in her previous matchup with the GLO, attended Coastal Carolina after a stint in junior college.

Key contributors for the Icons also include Brea Edwards (Middle Tennessee State), Lauren Elliott (Tennessee State), Anesha Harmon (West Virginia State) and Elisa Beagle (Texas A&M Corpus Christi). Edwards had a team-leading 14 points against the GLO on June 1.

Scouting the Breeze: Chicago rebounded from its lopsided loss to the GLO with a 73-60 victory over the crosstown rival Chicago Lady Steam on June 15.

Shante Glenn (Lewis) led the Breeze with 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists and five steals in the team’s prior meeting with the GLO.

Other players to watch for Chicago include former WNBA player Angelina Williams (Illinois), Bryeasha Blair (South Carolina State) and Helen Ogunjimi (Columbia-Missouri), a member of the Nigerian National Team. Williams did not play against the GLO in the teams’ first meeting.
